A few of my favorite things. {December}

HAPPY 2018 EVERYBODY

We made it.

Give yourself a big ol' hand because good golly, making it (especially through 2017) is a big deal.

So December was both the longest and shortest month of 2017. It was gone before I knew it, but it felt like every other day I was on my knees begging for it to be o v e r. Between working through the holiday season and surviving my last semester of finals W O O- I have been a tired gal.

I thought it would be a fun post to throw together a little list of some of much faves from the last month! Have you tried any of these guys?

1. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe + Herbs + Rosewater So this is a product that I had been eyeing for a hot minute before buying it early this month. I have a love + hate relationship with facial sprays in the sense that I love the idea behind them; the fact that they smell good, are (supposed to be) packed full of lovely ingredients, and are a final and fulfilling step to a skin routine. The hate part of the relationship comes out where I am very skeptical of most facial sprays (I have sat down so many bottles of face sprays in TJ Maxx because I am convinced they are all full of oily fragranced water that is assembled in a chemical ridden factory). In high school I used Mario Badescu facial cleanser, astringent, and their Silver Powder and absolutely loved them. After figuring out that most of my facial issues are diet + inflammation related I've moved around on my skin routine but my respect for Mario Badescu's brand has never wavered. I've seen people rave about this product for so long, but when I finally got around to smelling the tester in Ulta I was a goner. Pure rosy bliss. Seriously, if you have any kind of love for rose scents you will lose it over this spray. I started out with the 4 oz bottle which was $7.00 and I have already decided that the next time I am "splurging" on the $14.00 8 oz because I could bathe in this magical water. This spray can be used to dampen your makeup brushes and sponges, set + refresh your makeup (YAY GLYCERIN), or to just give yourself a mini shower in before going to sleep. I personally use it on both my face and chest, but if I could afford it I would probably even spray down to my toes every night. *Its an addiction* Putting it on before bed is my favorite way to use it because when you wake up in the morning it's like a reset button has been pressed on your skin. Firming, smaller pores, even immediately a reduction of texture (my personal favorite), and the perfect amount of hydrated- Y E S X100 This will transform your skin and you will feel like a magical floral forest queen when you use it so it's a 10/10 from this gal.

2. Dooney & Bourke Wallet I've never really been a designer purse + wallet + sunglasses kind of lady. I have always appreciated them from afar, but I really couldn't tell you about what was in season and what wasn't (oh and I still can't do that). BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. There is a new love budding, and I don't know if I should be scared for my bank account or just let the love grow with reckless abandon. As a graduation present my Aunt Beth surprised me with this stunning wristlet. It's large enough that my phone fits perfectly inside, and has gorgeous red interior details that look extra fab with the dark brown alligator looking leather. Besides the fact that I feel so entirely glam carrying this guy around, it's so handy and convenient for running errands. Love. Love. Love.

3. L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-matte Liquid Lipstick I know we are making a huge leap from designer wallet to drugstore lipstick but that is just the kind of person I am. I love this lipstick so much that it makes me mad. It makes me mad that I don't really hear people talk about it and it is the best dang liquid lipstick that I have used- EVER. It's a comfortable, soft matte finish that is never dry or cracky. The most I have ever had to touch it up is after an 8 hour work day with coffee and food throughout, and never because it "needed" to be touched up, but because I felt better doing it. It calls itself a 16 hour wearing lipstick but this sucker has stayed on me a full 24 hours before. And it still looked good. My ride or die color is Nudist. It is a warm, deep, almost burnt nude and I cannot imagine my life without it. Another favorite is Angora, which is a very unique gray pink shade. The applicator on these is a modified doe foot with a cut out in the middle that keeps it from gooping up on you. Even on days when my lips are dry this guy comes through. The best part? Less than $10.00 AND Ulta likes to do a BOGO 1/2 off sale on these from time to time. Comfortable. Longwearing. Cheap. YES. Pictured Below: Nudist

4. Colourpop Hear Me Out Pressed Powder Shadow I have a bad habit of losing my cool when Colourpop has any kind of sale on their site. Their products are so wonderful and already so inexpensive that even a 20% off sale is enough to send me into a frenzy. I wanted to try their new (not new anymore but new to me) pressed powder formula shadows and this seemed like the most perfect opportunity. $2.80 for a shadow. Can that really be beat? Hear Me Out is a matte white peach, so it is a perfect base shade for me to pop on the eyelid, and wonderful for brightening up the inner corners. I was blown away by the pigmentation of this shadow and I am already adding more of these guys to my cart because I am just smitten.

5. Paddywax Balsam & Fir Candle Ya'll know I've been burning these balsam-y scents since the beginning of fall, and its not about to stop any time soon! Paddywax is my favorite brand for these wintery fresh scents. This scent is the traditional balsam scent, but it has a fresh tang to it that keeps it light. Not only do I love the smell, but the packaging is just to die for. I am living for those green and gold tones for this cool season. I also L O V E being able to support a business where the candles are hand poured in Nashville, Tennessee!

So there are a few of my favorite things right now! Tell me some of your favorite things right now!

xx, Aubrey
